Course Description:              This course covers 3D elements of the Autodesk software, including the use of parametric solid modeling and surfacing, assembly modeling, creating 3D   digital prototypes, and 2D orthographic development from 3D drawings.

Prerequisite:                      DT-114

Learning Outcomes:         As a result of instruction in this course students will be able to:

  1. Use CAD tools to create wireframe drawings, solid models, and annotated working 3D drawings; and change, modify, and manipulate 3D models
  2. Create 2-D sketches
  3. Use dynamic viewing commands
  4. Create and edit parametric dimensions
  5. Create a binary tree
  6. Setup GRID and SNAP intervals
  7. Create placed features
  8. Modify and update feature dimensions
  9. Create parametric relations
  10. Use Dimensional variables
  11. Apply different geometric constraints
  12. Create projected geometry
  13. Use the BORN technique
  14. Create drawing layouts from solid models
  15. Arrange and manage 2D views in drawing mode
  16. Setup multiple work planes
  17. Create parts in the assembly modeler mode
  18. Utilize the Autodesk Inventor adaptive design approach
